Halloween at Nexthosting: 10% off game servers with the code – until November 1

The Core servers cover the widest range. Older Core i7 models with four cores are the cheapest way to get your own hardware, while a Core i9-13900 is among the fastest processors on the whole list.

The number after the hyphen reveals the generation: a Core i7-6700 was released in 2015 and reaches around 8,000 points, a Core i9-13900 from 2023 around 44,500. That is why the release year and the points are shown on every server.

What matters

  1. The generation decides

Between a sixth-generation Core i7 and a thirteenth-generation Core i5 there is almost a fourfold difference in performance. The name “i7” alone says little.

  2. From the twelfth generation: two kinds of cores

The Core i5-13500, i9-12900K and i9-13900 combine fast performance cores with economical efficiency cores. Game servers run on the fast ones, background services on the rest.

  3. Cheap here means four cores

A Core i7-6700 or i7-7700 is enough for web servers, small game servers, bots and development environments. For many services at once, choose six cores or more.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Core i7 with four cores enough?

For a web server, a few bots or a single game server, yes. As soon as several services create load at the same time, a Core i7-8700 with six cores or a Core i9 is worth it.

What is the difference between Core and Xeon?

Xeon servers usually have ECC RAM, which corrects bit errors. Within the same generation, Core processors are about as fast per core and often cheaper.

How quickly is my server ready?

We provision the server once your payment has arrived. You receive the access details by email, and they are also shown in the customer area. The server starts in the rescue system; you then install your operating system with one click.

Is there a setup fee or a long term?

No. There is no setup fee, and the minimum term starts at one month. If you pay six or twelve months in advance, the monthly price goes down – you can see the prices on the server’s page.

Why do servers disappear from the list?

Every server is one of a kind. As soon as someone has rented it, it is gone, and others are added. The list is updated every few minutes.

Can I upgrade the server later?

A server’s hardware is fixed. If your project grows, you order a larger server, move over and cancel the old one at the end of its term.
