Start with Basicyour-ip:your-portYour server as a command post on the map – and this is how it shows up in the Arma 3 server browser. The name goes into server.cfg, slots and password into the startup settings. Type and map come from your mission.
Three sizes, named the way a situation map names them: fire team, platoon, company. No plan limits your slots – how many players your server carries depends on mission, mods and AI.

Map legend
You don’t upload a single mod by hand. Your server fetches them from the Steam Workshop – following the list you export from the Arma 3 launcher.
Route of march
In the Arma 3 launcher you export your mods as a list to a file.
You place it as modlist.html in the root folder of your server – in the file manager or via SFTP.
On start your server downloads every mod on the list from the Workshop. From then on it checks them for updates on every start.
Your players load the same list into their launcher – and their mods match your server.
Single mods, player count, password, headless clients, mission: enter what you need. Next to it you get exactly what to enter in the panel.
Your details
Workshop links or IDs, one per line. They are added to the mod list from the launcher. 2 mods recognised
Only the server loads these – your players don’t need them.
Empty = open to everyone.
They compute the AI next to the server, if your mission uses them. Each one needs memory and CPU of its own.

Ready to enter
Enter these under “Startup settings” in the panel, then restart.
Open it in the file manager and add or adjust these lines.

Nexthosting Schutz
Every game server at Nexthosting is protected against DDoS attacks at no extra cost. With a dedicated IP address, your server gets a filter all to itself – and you get the panel where you watch every attack bounce off.
All quiet. Blue means your players. They walk through the gate – that is your server's port.
Example, no real data
Moving example from the protection panel: small squares run towards a wall. Blue squares – the players – pass through the gate to the server, during an attack too. Sand-coloured squares – the attack – get stuck at the wall.
Senders that open connections in bulk are locked out automatically while an attack is running. You lift any lock with one click.
Existing connections are never cut. Regulars – anyone who has spent a while on your server – get in straight away, even in the middle of an attack.

The map shows the traffic to your server, country by country. Block a country with one click – or allow only the ones you choose. If you like, the protection blocks attacking countries by itself while an attack is running.

Course, waves and senders, minute by minute – as a PDF and as a table. One click reports the attack to Nexthosting: an urgent notice at once, followed by a full report as a PDF. On request with a confirmation you can hand to the police or other authorities.

Three protection levels – and if you like, the protection tightens by itself when an attack starts. You are told by e-mail and Discord as soon as an attack begins and when it is over. Plus: a test of the protection at the push of a button, co-managers for your community's admins, and traffic per port.
You pick the dedicated IP address as an add-on while ordering. Server location: a data centre in Germany.
Console, files, backups, databases and co-managers: you open the panel straight from your customer account.

server.cfg. Missions are uploaded as .pbo files to the mpmissions folder – in the file manager or via SFTP.Your players can see for themselves whether the server is up and how full it is right now.
Included with every game server at no extra charge, you switch it on in the panel. Player count and map are available for games with a server query, online or offline is always shown.
Example: a Discord channel shows the status message of a server with 12 of 50 players, ping, uptime and address. Below it is a forum post whose signature contains the status banner of the same server. Both show the same player count.

Radio message
After payment your server sets itself up and starts. On the first start it downloads Arma 3 – and your mods, once you have uploaded a mod list. Depending on the size this takes a while. You open the panel straight from your customer account.
You export your mod list from the Arma 3 launcher and upload the file as modlist.html to the root folder of your server. On the next start it downloads every mod on the list from the Steam Workshop and from then on checks them for updates on every start.
Single mods can be added in the startup settings – as @ID, separated by semicolons. The builder above writes the line for you.
A headless client is a second Arma without a picture. It runs next to your server and takes over the AI calculations. That pays off in missions with many AI units – provided the mission or a mod hands the AI over to it.
In the startup settings you set up to five; they start with the server. Each one needs memory and CPU from your plan.
Put the .pbo file into the mpmissions folder – in the file manager or via SFTP. Then add it to server.cfg under class Missions and restart. The builder above writes those lines for you.
No plan limits your slots – you set the maximum yourself in the startup settings. How many your server carries smoothly depends, with Arma 3, mostly on mission, mods and the number of AI units. If it gets tight, you move to the larger plan or add memory and cores one by one.
The basis is there: every plan comes with MySQL databases – 2 with Basic, 5 with Advanced, 20 with Community. You upload and set up the framework and its server extensions yourself, in the file manager or via SFTP. Your server runs on Linux, so use the Linux build of the extensions.
Yes. You move to a larger plan at any time and at once, the difference is charged pro rata; to a smaller one at the end of the term. Or you add memory, cores or storage one by one with “Extend your server”.
With monthly billing you can cancel your plan monthly. Longer terms can be chosen as well; then the agreed term applies.
