Halloween at Nexthosting: 10% off game servers with the code – until November 1
Your own stretch of land – for survival, mods and roleplay. You don’t pay for slots: you set the player count yourself. Day and night run at your pace.
€17.99 /month · 8 GB RAM · about 40 players
Start with AdvancedRoughly how your server appears in the DayZ server browser. Name, password, view and the maximum player count are set in the panel – shown here is the guide value of the plan you picked.
Four crates, four sizes – each one carries its memory. You don’t pay for slots: you set the player count yourself. What a plan is sized for is given as a guide value; it depends on your mods and the map.

On your server you decide how fast the clock runs – and whether the night passes faster than the day. Set both and see how long your players are out in daylight and in the dark.
Time lapse Clock in the game 08:00
Light 1 h
Dark 1 h
A full day in the game takes 2 h on your server – in 24 hours the game clock goes round 12 times.
With this setting the night lasts longer than two hours.
How fast the clock runs in the game. 1× is real time: a day then takes 24 hours.
Comes on top at night. In the dark your clock runs 12×.
That depends on the date your server starts with: shorter in winter, longer in summer.
serverDZ.cfg
serverTimeAcceleration = 12; serverNightTimeAcceleration = 1; serverTimePersistent = 0;
You enter the three values in the startup settings in the panel. This is what they are called in the DayZ settings file.
serverTime of serverDZ.cfg. You edit the file in the file manager.Nexthosting Schutz
Every game server at Nexthosting is protected against DDoS attacks at no extra cost. With a dedicated IP address, your server gets a filter all to itself – and you get the panel where you watch every attack bounce off.
All quiet. Blue means your players. They walk through the gate – that is your server's port.
Example, no real data
Moving example from the protection panel: small squares run towards a wall. Blue squares – the players – pass through the gate to the server, during an attack too. Sand-coloured squares – the attack – get stuck at the wall.
Senders that open connections in bulk are locked out automatically while an attack is running. You lift any lock with one click.
Existing connections are never cut. Regulars – anyone who has spent a while on your server – get in straight away, even in the middle of an attack.

The map shows the traffic to your server, country by country. Block a country with one click – or allow only the ones you choose. If you like, the protection blocks attacking countries by itself while an attack is running.

Course, waves and senders, minute by minute – as a PDF and as a table. One click reports the attack to Nexthosting: an urgent notice at once, followed by a full report as a PDF. On request with a confirmation you can hand to the police or other authorities.

Three protection levels – and if you like, the protection tightens by itself when an attack starts. You are told by e-mail and Discord as soon as an attack begins and when it is over. Plus: a test of the protection at the push of a button, co-managers for your community's admins, and traffic per port.
You pick the dedicated IP address as an add-on while ordering. Server location: a data centre in Germany.
What applies on your server is set in the startup settings in the panel. Try it on the sign – it carries the name you chose above.

Your players can see for themselves whether the server is up and how full it is right now.
Included with every game server at no extra charge, you switch it on in the panel. Player count and map are available for games with a server query, online or offline is always shown.
Example: a Discord channel shows the status message of a server with 12 of 50 players, ping, uptime and address. Below it is a forum post whose signature contains the status banner of the same server. Both show the same player count.

After payment your server sets itself up and starts. The first start takes a little longer because the game is downloaded. You open the panel straight from your customer account.
Yes. Export your mod list from the DayZ Launcher, upload it as modlist.html to the main folder of your server and restart. Your server then downloads the mods from the Steam Workshop.
Further mods and mods that only the server should load are entered in the startup settings.
The startup settings have two values: time acceleration up to 24× and night acceleration up to 64×, which comes on top at night. With 12× time and 4× night, a light day of twelve hours takes one hour and the night 15 minutes.
Whether the clock carries on after a restart or starts over is set there as well.
Yes. In the startup settings you switch off third person and the crosshair separately. The brightness of the nights and voice chat are set there too.
No plan limits your slots – you set the maximum player count yourself in the startup settings. As a guide, Basic is sized for about 20, Advanced for about 40, Premium for about 60 and Community for about 80 players.
What your server really carries depends on your mods and the map. If it gets tight, you move to a larger plan or add memory and cores one by one.
Yes. With a server password only those who know it get in. First person only, voice chat and your own mod list go well with that. The admin password and the RCON password are set separately.
Yes. You move to a larger plan at any time and at once, the difference is charged pro rata; to a smaller one at the end of the term. Or you add memory, cores or storage one by one with “Extend your server”.
