Loading screen in the Horizon design: server name bottom left, rules on the right, loading progress with a file counter at the bottom

Five designs, built for the Garry's Mod loading screen

Every design stays readable from 4:3 to 21:9, keeps the bottom-right corner free for Garry's Mod's own loading window, and darkens your background image behind text so everything stays readable. You choose the color, images and text.

  • Charter design: header with map and gamemode, columns for about, numbered rules and team

    Charter

For DarkRP and PoliceRP: rules, team and community links in three columns.

  • Pulse design: large uppercase server name over a beam of light, rules and info below

    Pulse

For StarWarsRP and sci-fi: a large title and quiet columns.

  • Briefing design: corner frame, rules of engagement and a segmented progress bar

    Briefing

    For TTT, MilitaryRP and SCP-RP.

  • Horizon design: background image in focus, name and info in the lower third

    Horizon

Your background image takes center stage.

  • Signal design: centered server name, progress bar and one tip

    Signal

    Minimal: name, progress, one tip.

How it gets onto your server

  1. Pick a design and add your text

Server name, color and background image, plus rules, tips and Discord if you like. The preview shows the real screen with a simulated connection.

  2. Publish and copy one line

After publishing you get a ready-made sv_loadingurl line to copy.

  3. Paste it into server.cfg

Add the line to garrysmod/cfg/server.cfg and restart the server. Later changes go live without a new line.

sv_loadingurl "https://tools.nexthosting.app/loadingscreen.php?s=00000&steamid=%s&mapname=%m"

Garry's Mod fills in the player's SteamID for %s and the map name for %m. The screen uses them for the greeting, avatar and map.

What's included

  • Up to 10 loading screens per customer account
  • Rules, rotating tips, a team note and a greeting with the player's Steam name
  • Discord, TeamSpeak, website and Workshop shown as easy-to-read addresses, because nobody can click while loading
  • Background image or slideshow, logo, music as MP3 or OGG
  • Real loading progress from Garry's Mod: status, files, current file
  • Labels in German or English
  • Views for the last 7 days and in total, pause and delete with undo, export and import

Who it's for

The generator is free for all Nexthosting customers. You sign in through your customer area.

The finished loading screen works on any Garry's Mod server where you can edit server.cfg. With a Garry's Mod server from Nexthosting you do that right in the panel's file manager.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the generator cost?

Nothing. You only need a Nexthosting customer account to sign in.

I only see the default loading screen when I connect. Why?

Check that the line is in server.cfg exactly as shown and that you restarted the server afterward. Garry's Mod only shows custom loading screens on servers with more than one slot, and players can turn them off for themselves with cl_enable_loadingurl 0.

Can players click links on the loading screen?

No. Garry's Mod turns off the mouse while loading. That's why the screen shows Discord and your website as a short, readable address such as discord.gg/yourserver.

Why is the bottom-right corner left empty?

That's where Garry's Mod shows its own window with loading status, progress and "Cancel" while you connect. Every design keeps this area free so nothing gets covered.

Can I play music?

Yes, with direct links to MP3 or OGG files. YouTube and Spotify links don't work. Volume follows the music volume in the game settings.

Do I have to paste the line again after every change?

No. The address stays the same. Whatever you save, players see the next time they connect.
